The Restoration of SACD
In the September issue of “STEREO,” a monthly audio magazine, there was an article about the SACD “JAZZ BOSSA and Reflections Vol. 1,” which is a hot topic among audiophiles, and a simultaneous listening test of SACD players. This SACD is a compilation of famous jazz recordings from the Verve label in the U.S. and bossa nova recordings from Philips in Brazil, selected and remastered by Seigen Ono. Despite including many well-known songs that everyone has heard before, this disc has caused many experts to say that they have heard these songs for the first time. It has created a completely different listening experience for many.
In response to this article, on October 16 (the anniversary of Kazuhiko Kato's death), the audio monthly magazine “STEREO” presented “Reminiscence of Tone/JAZZ BOSSA and Reflections Vol. 1J” at “Esoteric/K-05XD” at the Daikanyama “Bean in the Sky if the Sun shines The Folk Crusaders / War and Peace” SACD is a recording of Mr. Kazuhiko Kato's acoustic guitar, and you can also hear the attention to tone quality unique to DSD (SACD), which cannot be reproduced to this extent on CD.
